Sérgio Magalhães, PhD (IPFN/IST)
Sérgio Magalhães, is a researcher at Instituto de Plasmas e Fusão Nuclear, Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal. He is author and co-athor of more than 50 publications in Peer-Review Journals. He supervised 2 master degree students and continue collaborations with researchers from several Universities initial during his PhD course. Sérgio Magalhães specialized in the development of analytical and simulation software to simulate the diffraction & reflection patterns of crystals. His main goal is to explore deeper the mechanisms of crystal damage resulting from ion implantation.

Eduardo Alves, PhD (IPFN/IST)
The scientific activity has been focused on nuclear solid state physics with emphasis on ion beam studies of semiconductors and insulators. The current interests are focused on the study of photonic materials. Tailoring the optoelectronic properties of wide-band gap materials by ion implantation, quantum-wells and nanostructures at the core of research work. The work carried out resulted in several thesis [PhD (5), MSc (5) and final year (4)] and Post-doctoral projects (5) as well several invited talks and oral contributions in international conferences. Research achievements are documented throughout over 650 publications in Peer-Review Journals, and an h-factor of 40.
